Meet Mary-Jane
Registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), my practice is based in central Bath, working one-to-one with adults aged 18 and over. My training includes an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and a Diploma from the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC).
People come to me from all walks of life, backgrounds, and ages. Alongside general practice, particular areas of experience include midlife and later-life difficulties, bereavement, neurodiversity, and supporting younger adults and university students - people at very different stages of life, often navigating challenges that are hard to put into words.

A person-centred approach
I believe each person arrives with their own story, experiences and way of making sense of the world. Rather than following a set programme, I offer a space where we can explore together what feels important to you.
You may come with a clear destination in mind, or arrive feeling uncertain about where to begin. Wherever you find yourself, is where we begin.
The humanistic and integrative nature of my work means I draw on different therapeutic approaches, tailoring our work to your individual needs within a consistent and holding relationship.
One-to-one, open-ended therapy
I offer individual sessions of 50 minutes, weekly, on an open-ended basis - meaning there is no set number of appointments.
We begin with an initial session to see whether working together feels right.
Low-cost places available
Sessions are £50 for 50 minutes, on a weekly basis.
I also hold a limited number of lower-cost spaces for those on low incomes or whose circumstances make the standard fee difficult to manage.
Please do not let cost be a barrier to getting in touch.

A safe, reflective space
People who come to therapy with me often describe feeling heard without judgement - leaving sessions with a greater sense of clarity and connection to themselves.
Much of my work comes through personal recommendation, which feels like the most honest reflection of what the therapeutic relationship can offer.
Ongoing professional development and regular clinical supervision are a consistent part of my practice - a commitment to working thoughtfully and ethically on behalf of every client.

A private and confidential setting
I work from The Practice Rooms in central Bath, within a Georgian building in the heart of the city.
The setting provides a calm and confidential space to pause, reflect and find your bearings away from the demands and distractions of everyday life.
Everything discussed in our sessions remains entirely confidential.
